The Engines

An engine is a mode tuned for one kind of work. They all share the same controls — what changes is the vocabulary, the presets, and what the Logic Gate knows about. Pick the engine that matches your subject and the app does the rest of the translating.

Pick the engine that matches your subject, not the one that matches your style. Style is a control; subject is the engine.

WHAT IT DOES

AUTO is the exterior vehicle engine — bodywork, stance, surfacing, wheels and lighting signature. It's the most heavily tuned mode in the app, with the widest set of presets, materials and camera behaviours.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Setting the Design House Logic Gate carries a whole brand's design language into the prompt — surface treatment, proportion cues and lighting philosophy — not just a name.

USE IT WELL

Start here to learn the app. Once AUTO makes sense, every other engine is a variation of the same shape.

Typing a brand name in the main input when you meant to set a Design House. The Logic Gate is where brand language lives.

AUTO-INT

WHAT IT DOES

AUTO-INT is the interior counterpart to AUTO. It frames the camera inside the vehicle and speaks the vocabulary of seat architecture, dashboard layout, screen treatment, trim materials and cabin lighting.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Interior DNA Logic Gate keeps trim, screen language and seat construction consistent with a chosen brand or era, without you having to describe each part.

USE IT WELL

Reach for this any time the shot is from inside the car. Trying to do it in AUTO will fight you every render.

Using AUTO for an interior shot. The exterior engine will keep pulling the camera outside the car.

WHAT IT DOES

CHARACTER builds prompts around a person or creature — wardrobe, physicality, expression and lighting — then filters the whole thing through a chosen artist's visual language via the Logic Gate.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Artistic Influence Logic Gate does the heavy lifting for style. You describe who the character is; the gate decides how they're drawn.

USE IT WELL

Keep your subject description grounded and physical. The style comes from the Logic Gate, not from adjectives in the main input.

COMMON MISTAKE
Describing the art style in the main input instead of setting Artistic Influence. You'll get a muddled blend of both.

WHAT IT DOES

ANIME is a character engine tuned specifically for animation. The Animation Studio Logic Gate carries a specific studio's line weight, palette, shading approach and effects vocabulary into the prompt.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Results feel like they came from a particular studio rather than from a generic 'anime' bucket. The differences between studios are visible and intentional.

USE IT WELL

Pick the studio first and let it drive the style. It's much more specific than any adjective you could type.

COMMON MISTAKE
Asking for 'anime style' in the prompt text. Set the Animation Studio instead — it's far more specific than the words 'anime style'.

WHAT IT DOES

FASHION builds editorial fashion prompts — model, garment construction, fabric, styling and set. The Fashion House Logic Gate defines the design vocabulary the clothing is drawn from.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The garment story comes from a combination of materials, styling and the Fashion House rather than from you naming a specific outfit. That's what keeps results looking editorial instead of costumey.

USE IT WELL

Put a model archetype in the main input and let the rest of the controls dress them. That's how the engine is designed to work.

Naming a specific garment in the main input. Put the model archetype there and let materials and the Fashion House carry the clothing.

WHAT IT DOES

CONCEPT is the hard-surface engine — mechs, vehicles, drones, industrial machines. The Manufacturing Faction Logic Gate gives everything a coherent hull language, panelling logic and wear pattern.

WHAT TO EXPECT

With a faction set, panel breaks, greebles and surface wear all sit inside one design world instead of feeling assembled from stock parts.

USE IT WELL

Treat the Manufacturing Faction as required, not optional. It's what separates a concept design from a pile of hard-surface adjectives.

COMMON MISTAKE
Leaving the Manufacturing Faction unset. Without it, hard-surface results drift toward generic sci-fi.

Colour, material and finish studies — the material specialist engine.

WHAT IT DOES

CMF is the material specialist. You name a part or product and the engine builds a prompt centred on colour, material and finish decisions rather than on hero composition. On Architect and above it can also produce a full Spec Sheet — materials, colours, processes, finishes, a sustainability score and a manufacturing feasibility read.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Prompts feel less like a photoshoot and more like a design study. The value shows up in the surface story — how something is made, not just how it's lit.

USE IT WELL

Use CMF when the surface decisions matter more than the shot. Then take those decisions into another engine if you need the hero image.

COMMON MISTAKE
Treating CMF like a render engine. It's a material study tool — the value is in the surface decisions, not the hero shot.

WHAT IT DOES

ARCH is the exterior architecture engine — building type, massing, cladding, glazing and site context. The Logic Gate can be an individual architect or a broader style, and the whole design language follows from it.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Setting an architect as the gate pulls in that architect's whole vocabulary — proportion, material palette and site attitude — not just a surface resemblance.

USE IT WELL

Keep the main input to a building type. Let the Logic Gate carry the design personality.

Naming an architect in the main input. Set it as the Logic Gate so the whole design language comes with it.

WHAT IT DOES

ARCH-INT is the interior spaces engine — rooms, surface materials, furniture, and the quality and direction of daylight. The Interior Designer Logic Gate gives the room a consistent voice.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Furniture, materials and light all read as chosen by the same hand instead of a random collection of nice objects.

USE IT WELL

Use ARCH-INT any time the camera is inside a building. Like AUTO vs AUTO-INT, the right engine keeps the camera in the right place.

Using ARCH for an interior. The exterior engine frames buildings from outside and won't hold an interior view.

WHAT IT DOES

POSTER builds graphic prompts — headline, subtext, palette, typographic hierarchy and layout logic. The Poster Theme Logic Gate sets the overall design register. The deeper Sigma Poster Forge — recipes, density, layout character and typography zones — lives inside the Inner Atelier for Architect tier and above.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The output is a layout brief with real hierarchy, not a decorated painting. Type placement and readable structure are first-class.

USE IT WELL

Fill in the poster text fields yourself and treat any rendered type as intent, not final copy. That's how you get a poster that could actually be produced.

COMMON MISTAKE
Expecting the model to spell your headline perfectly. Treat generated type as layout intent, and set real text yourself in the poster fields.

WHAT IT DOES

DIRECTOR is the fully manual engine. Instead of a Logic Gate that fills things in for you, you get fifteen cinematic fields — shot type, subject, brand, era, environment, lighting, camera, composition, action, film look, weather, style, artist, surfacing and colour — and you set every one yourself.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Nothing is auto-filled. What you set is what you get. That's the whole point of the mode.

USE IT WELL

The Director is now polymorphic — Automotive, Fashion, Character and Mecha. See the Director Console chapter for each mode's vocabulary.

COMMON MISTAKE
Starting here. Director gives you no defaults — use a subject engine first, then move to Director when you know exactly what you want.

FLASH

Generate images inside the app instead of copying out to another tool.

WHAT IT DOES

FLASH is the in-app renderer — it takes a finished prompt and generates images without leaving the workstation. Resolutions run 512px, 1K, 2K and 4K; layouts include standard, storyboard, character sheet and multi-view. The higher resolutions are Architect tier and above.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You can keep the whole loop inside the app when you don't need Midjourney or another external model in the mix.

USE IT WELL

Iterate at 512px or 1K until the composition is settled, then push to 2K or 4K once you're happy. Rendering big before the composition is right is the fastest way to burn credits.

Rendering at 4K while you're still exploring. Draft at 512px or 1K, then go big once the composition is settled.
